In seiner Arbeit inszeniert Nicolas Bourbaki die Selbstdarstellung des Individuums, das Festhalten von Momenten auf Speicherkarten und die Frage, welche Momente es eigentlich sind, die der Mensch der digitalen Welt stets bei sich zu tragen pflegt.

Noch zehn Tage bis zum Start

Wir befinden uns mittlerweile in der Startvorbereitungsphase und versuchen fieberhaft, die verfügbare Raumzeit und technischen Sachverhalte für die μ:avit Konferenz in den Griff zu kriegen. Bitte schick uns eine kurze Nachricht, falls Du aktiv Teil der Veranstaltung werden und z.B. ein einstündiges Showcase in der Ausstellung zeigen möchtest. Falls Du Angst haben solltest, am 24sten einen unserer Workshops oder Vorträge zu verpassen, gibt es natürlich auch die Möglichkeit, an einem anderen Tag deine Kunst einem interessierten Publikum zu präsentieren. Die DMY Youngsters Ausstellung läuft vom 21sten bis 25sten Mai und es gibt Raum und Zeit für tägliche VJ Showcases zwischen 12:00 und 22:00 Uhr. Sag uns einfach bescheid, damit wir Dich entsprechend in unserem Alaufplan berücksichtigen können und Du auch entsprechend angekündigt und promotet werden kannst. Einsendeschluss für Anmeldungen ist der 20ste Mai. Aktive Teilnehmer der μ:avit und DMY Veranstaltung bekommen kostenlosen Einlass in Form von Tagestickets. Falls Du einfach nur bei den Workshops oder Lectures teilnehmen möchtest, oder generell an der DMY Youngsters Ausstellung interessiert bist, kannst Du einfach ein reguläres DMY Tagesticket am Einlass für EUR 6,- erwerben. Es ist alles inklusive.

Ten days ’til take-off

We now have entered the prelaunch phase, sorting out the needed timespace and technical issues for the μ:avit conference. Please send us a quick note if you want to actively participate by doing a one-hour showcase of your art within the exhibition space. If you do not want to do your showcase on the 24th because you fear missing a workshop, it is also possible to do this during the days before the actual μ:avit saturday. The DMY Youngsters exhibition starts on may 21st and ends on the 25th and there will be daily VJ showcases from 12:00 till 22:00. Just drop us a note and tell us a bit about you, so we can add you to the schedule and promote you accordingly. Deadline for submissions is the 20th of May. Active participants of the μ:avit and DMY event will be provided with free entry day-passes. If you are just interested in taking part at our workshop and lecture programme on saturday, or generally interested in the DMY exhibition, you can buy a regular day-pass for EUR 6.- at the entry desk. It’s all included!

Visual Berlin + DMY = AVITs!

Seit der erfolgreichen AVIT>C23 im Dezember 2006 haben wir uns nach Möglichkeiten umgeschaut, weitere VJ Konferenzen in Berlin zu veranstalten. Mit dem Chaos Computer Club haben wir im Sommer gezeltet und im Winter in den Untergrund zurückgezogen. Jetzt sind wir endlich fündig geworden: Mit DMY - einer Gruppe die jährliche Designmessen und Ausstellungen in Berlin und darüber hinaus organisiert - sind wir eine vielversprechende Partnerschaft eingegangen, aus der in Zukunft noch viel mehr entstehen kann.

VisualBerlin hat 2007 bei DMY für die Videokunst gesorgt und die Zusammenarbeit war erfolgreich. Dieses Jahr wird DMY wieder Videoinstallationen und von VisualBerlin kuratierte Showcases bekommen und wir haben beschlossen, eine eintägige VJ Minikonferenz abzuhalten - die microAVIT at DMY. Für das Jahr 2009 soll aus dem Micro ein Makro werden und die Planungen für eine große AVIT Veranstaltung sind bereits in ihren Anfängen…

Bei der diesjährigen Konferenz wird es einige interessante Workshops und Vorträge geben, Showcases innerhalb der DMY Ausstellung und alles in allem ein ganzer Tag voll kompaktem VJ Networking. Es wird einstündige “Couch VJ” showcases im Loungebereich der Ausstellung geben, wo ihr eure Kunst präsentieren könnt.

“Plus ein Tageskurs in Quartz Composer?” Na klar!

Wenn du einfach vorbeischauen möchtest, mitmachen oder was lernen willst, dich mit anderen VJ austauschen oder jammen, oder uns helfen möchtest, die μ:avit zu einem großartigen Event werden zu lassen, komm vorbei! Wenn du ein interessantes Thema hast, über das du einen Vortrag oder Workshop anbieten möchtest, bist du dazu herzlich eingeladen!

Die Vorträge haben eine zeitliche Begrenzung von maximal einer Stunde, die Workshops von zwei, und sollten entweder in englischer oder deutscher Sprache gehalten werden. Schick uns eine Email, wenn du Teil der μ:avit sein möchtest und lass uns wissen, was du vorhast, damit wir alles zeitlich gut einplanen können. Bitte schick uns auf jeden Fall deine Kontaktinformationen und einen Screenshot oder Showreel-Link deiner Arbeiten. Falls du einen Vortrag/Workshop machen willst, sag uns bitte auch den Titel und die Dauer und eine kurze Übersicht des Themas.

Visual Berlin + DMY = AVITs!

Since the successful AVIT>C23 in December 2006 we’ve been looking for opportunities to continue our Berlin vj conferences. With the Chaos Computer Club we’ve been in tents in the summer and underground in the winter. Now in the form of DMY, a crew who organizes annual design tradefairs and exhibitions around the city and beyond, we have a partnership that should allow us to go even further.

VisualBerlin participated at DMY in 2007 and it worked out really well. This year DMY is hosting video installations and VJ showcases curated by VisualBerlin and we have decided to organize a one-day mini VJ conference alongside the festival - the microAVIT at DMY. For 2009 the micro will change into a macro and we are already making plans for a big AVIT event…

Saturday, May 24th, 2008 - Arena Berlin

Besides meeting up, connecting and playing around, there will be a few interesting workshops and talks, and showcases inside the DMY exhibition - all in all a full day of compact VJ networking.

We have “Couch VJ” showcase slots up to one hour within the DMY exhibition space if you want to show your art there.

“Plus a day’s course in quartz composer?” definetly!

If you want to come along to learn or jam together with other attending visual artists, or if you want to help us, feel free to come around. If you want to talk about something or host a workshop, you are very welcome.

The lectures are bound to a maximum of one hour and are to be held in english or german. The workshops can be as long as two hours. The length of the showcases will depend on numerous factors. There are the “normal” showcases if you just want to show your current work to an interested audience. Please drop us a line of your intention and personal interests so we can measure demand better and adjust the offers and timings. Please tell us your contact information and send us a screenshot or showreel link of your work. In case you want to offer a lecture or workshop, please tell us the topic and give some overview about it.

The μ:avit programme will be published and updated on an almost daily basis until  may 21st.

Unfortunately we can’t provide any financial help for travel costs, but if you need help finding accomodation, feel free to contact us.
